...and here is why.
Minnesota currently leads the division at 7-5. GB trails by 2 games with 4 to go but has a much easier schedule. After Detroit this Sunday, Minnesota finishes up with Atlanta, Arizona and the Giants. The Vikes should beat the Lions to improve to 8-5 but could easily lose 2 of 3 to the Falcons, Cards and Giants. That would leave them at 9-7 with a division record of 4-2.
The Packers on the other hand wind down the season with Houston, Jax, Chicago and Detroit. Yes, they pretty much have to run the table and go 4-0 but if they did that, combined with 2 losses from Minnesota, Green Bay would be in. This is based on their division record of 5-1.
Now this is all speculative, but none of it is overly far fetched. Again the scenario....
Minnesota goes 2-2 vs Det, Atl, Ariz and the Giants
Green Bay runs the table vs Hou, Jax, Chi, Det
Green Bay and Minnesota tie for the division lead at 9-7, but the Packers get in based on their 5-1 conference record.
Don't give up yet Packer fans.......
